Japan Association for Refugees (JAR) will participate in the Tokyo Marathon 2026 [Sunday, March 1, 2026] Charity as a donation recipient organization.
Use of donations
Donations from the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity will be used to support JAR’s activities providing comprehensive assistance, including medical, food, housing and other support, to refugees who have fled to Japan, enabling them to have a normal life.
There are over 122.6 million people who are forcibly displaced worldwide. Refugees from Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and other countries are fleeing to Japan as well. But only a few people were recognized as refugees by the Japanese government, and many asylum seekers face long waiting periods and difficult living conditions.
JAR provides support to those who have difficulties in accessing basic needs such as food, clothing, medical care and shelter. In addition, we provide information on refugee applications and resources so that they will be protected and able to live safely in Japan. In addition, JAR also provides job assistance, community support, policy advocacy and public relations activities aimed at creating a society that accepts refugees.
How to participate the charity
There are two ways to participate.
1、Those who donate 100,000 yen or more and who wish to participate as charity runners
*If the number of runners exceeds the maximum number, charity runners will be selected according to the selection method of JAR.
